I would much rather remember my first kiss plz.

And yes, that is the Danzig font.

Umar is his sister; Clea is his niece.

Me, I'm just gonna be sitting there in my wheelchair muttering, "Worlds will live worlds will die worlds will live worlds will die."

and so the cycle perpetuates itself

There's a new Starlord limited series featuring Rocket Raccoon. The internet gave it to me, and I thought 'oh, I know about him because of Chris Goodwin!' :x

Re: and so the cycle perpetuates itself

really?! neeters :D

do you know if Rocket is still a cop?
i love that the typically bantido raccoon
is a police officer on his home world ;)

and how random is that for a minor throwaway
Incredible Hulk character? it's cool that he
still persists and is getting scripted into
plots.

Re: and so the cycle perpetuates itself

Well, thanks to some summer event that totally passed me by, Rocket's got involved in a Dirty Dozen/Suicide Squad kind of situation (though the megaplot is barely significant to this particular narrative.) I have a feeling the writer was allowed to have these characters because there's little comics community investment in whether they live or die.

According to wikipedia there's already been one attempt to do him in off-panel: "During Peter David's run on the Hulk series, the title character went into space and David addressed reader requests for Rocket's reappearance by implying that he had been killed by the aliens known as the Troyjans, who had a pelt mounted on the wall that looked like Rocket's."

If you have a few idle moments, here's this new series so far:
Annihilation Conquest - Starlord 01 (2007) (noads) (FSE-DCP).cbr

Annihilation Conquest - Starlord 02 (2007) (noads) (Team-DCP).cbr

And as I type I'm trying to download Mike Mignola's Rocket Raccoon limited series ;]

Mike Mignola's Rocket Raccoon limited series

I was really surprised, after getting into Mignola due to his Hellboy stuff, to have those surface in my collection some time later. So much more fiddly - but you can see the seeds of where his art went!

I just got it because, ooh! raccoons!.

Join the club, man. WHY DO I KNOW ALL THIS CRAP ABOUT THE MARVEL AND DC UNIVERSES? I don't even remember LIKING them that much. Doctor Strange's continuity is something remote and weird that I only know tiny fragments about because I just never picked up much of it; I'm sure it'd be a lot less interesting if I actually went digging and read much of it.

At least we DO have parts of our heads also filled with obscure trivial crap that's useful in what we do. But WHY DO I HAVE THIS FRACTAL WELL OF MAINSTREAM COMICS TRIVIA?

Ten years from now, you will be able to quiz folks on random Pokemon names, and they will spit out similar reams of information, and then ask why, themselves.

It's part of the fun of being a kid, really. ^.^

Hmmm. I think there was a parody of that character in the second season of Venture Bros that went by the name of Torrid.

Oh dude!! I rented and watched the new "Doctor Strange" OVA last week!
Dormammu was in it!
He was kinda like a Balrog with a lot more flames and a lot less body.
Oh, and no whip.
It was kinda cool!
I really don't remember anything about Doctor Strange from these French Marvel comics I read growing up. It was mostly Spider-Man, X-Men, Daredevil, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, The Avengers, Iron Fist, Iron Jaw, I'm not even kidding.
I'm old-school Marvel.
'Nuff said.

Hey! I still consider that knowledge better than knowing, or a example, how to pull out a 27 hit hit combo with any given character, in a practice mode of guilty gear, watching my life pass in front of me, and all the oil painting I never did before, while I see the best of my time and brains burned down, taking pride on ridiculous and useless skills...
